• Our 9th #statecapitol! It just so happens that this year is the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad and the placement of that last golden spike in Utah. We were excited to find out that there was an exhibit at the Capitol building in honor of the anniversary which included the actual golden spike from 1869 and the original resolution authorizing the railroad, signed by President Abraham Lincoln. That made this visit especially cool out of all the Capitol buildings we've visited.
We also all agreed that this was one of our favorite buildings - it's super bright and light inside. Salt Lake City was an equally manicured and beautiful city. We enjoyed walking around at and are definitely putting it on the list of places we might want to spend more time in some day. More pictures in my stories.
  • Walking around downtown Salt Lake City and I can't help but marvel at these two. Our oldest girls are just about 3.5 years apart and getting seemingly closer every minute. I swear Zara has been racing to keep up with Nora since the moment she was born. I never had sisters growing up, just lots and lots of brothers, so it's a wonder to watch them together as their friendship blossoms and they grow together. It also makes me happy for our surprise baby 4, who'll hopefully be as close to Addie as these two are to one another.
  • The classic #stateline photo. A little out of order, but I had to share - proof we're in Utah. ๐Ÿ˜
  • I'm a day late on Father's Day because work stuff is crazy pants right now - we're running a bunch of concurrent projects and I have been clocking all the hours. We have gotten a little bit of hiking in at #archesnationalpark though, and yesterday Chris won the dad award because we forgot our baby backpack for Addie in the trailer and he ended up carrying her 3 miles up a mountain and back (with a little help from me, but mostly on his own) so we could make it out to see an arch. He's definitely #SuperDad.

Also, apparently both times we went out we also forgot our cameras so here's a bunch of cellphone pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • A couple of pictures from our eighth state Capitol visit in Denver. Swipe to see a view of Denver from up in the dome. ย Usually they won't let little kids up in the dome but that was not the case in Colorado, so this Capitol building was special in that way.

We spent the week at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Lakewood, with a day trip up to Fort Collins on Wednesday, which allowed me to visit with clients and the girls to spend time with their friends. And on Thursday, Chris backtracked with the girls to Colorado Springs to eat at the restaurant one of his former sous chefs opened ( I stayed at the trailer to work. ). It was a good week, though a little hectic with the extra day trips. Now we're heading to Utah for a visit to Arches National Park and our 9th state capital.

There are more photos from the Capitol building in my stories if you want to check them out. .
