Finds of the week:
- Breastfeeding and Pumping for 6 month old Baby from the UC Davis Human Lactation Center
- Food Ark, National Geographic — a fabulous article about heirloom seeds and the role they will play in feeding the world. Here’s a quote: “Most of us in the well-fed world give little thought to where our food comes from or how it’s grown. We steer our shopping carts down supermarket aisles without realizing that the apparent bounty is a shiny stage set held up by increasingly shaky scaffolding. We’ve been hearing for some time about the loss of flora and fauna in our rain forests. Very little, by contrast, is being said or done about the parallel erosion in the genetic diversity of the foods we eat.”
- The Milk Truck — Part performance art, part public service; it’s going to be an ice cream truck with a giant boob on top that will “start a conversation in our community about a basic human right: feeding a baby.” They’re still fundraising – click the link to read more about it and contribute!
- Young House Love — This makes me sad about renting.
